There was drinking water in the room which was a huge bonus! 10 minutes by car to beautiful beaches, 40 minutes to airport, 1 hour to West Bay. Authentic islandlife. This place is perfect! Isla barbareta. It seems to be in the middle of no where, but in my opinion it’s the best!

We did rent a car for 4 days to tour the island and parked it at BJ's for $2.00 a day. Ideal for backpackers and low budget travelers. I liked the place so much I stayed an extra week. We loved the atmosphere of this little Caye, the caretakers (Victor, Marta, son Gary and pets) were wonderful. He was very informative and explained his family history on Roatan. The island and reef around it are protected as Barbareta Marine National Park.
Time in Barbareta is now 12:13 AM (Monday). Sherri and Brian the owners at top notch and will show you some great local hospitality and delicious food and beverage. Pigeon Cays to the south is the second most touristic spot as the small island if pretty and an excellent location for picnics in between diving or snorkeling. Other sights include Barbareta Beach, a Parrot Reserve, Jade Beach and a small Mayan archaeological site. Beautiful sea views and landscape, amazing private pool just for you. I loved it!
