So basically I dont' feel I have control over my own insurance and are forced to use an intermediary.

I think there prices are ok , the customer service staff I have spoken to over the phone were ok but could improve their communication style. And they couldn't find my linked Income Protection once they farmed that policy of to another part of the company. At the time MLC was wholly owned by NAB but now years later I am forced to make a claim against TPD and Income Protection. Fortunately haven't had to make a claim yet but am seriously worried if I ever have to.
