We had the opportunity to visit Aunt Catfishes, Salsa’s of Port Orange and Hardee’s. We love to share great travel destinations, food and all things family while living on the East Coast. You can find lots of pet friendly places to stay, you can take your pet to the beach and to some of the local restaurants in the area. Ponce Inlet is supposed to be known for being relatively dog-friendly. For our stay we ended up booking an Airbnb condo for the 12 days we were visiting. So, now we’ve all been meeting down there for Christmas. All the buildings with artifacts are neat too! lamp.1927, the name of Mosquito Inlet was changed to Ponce de Leon Inlet for real estate and tourism purposes.August, 1933 the tower light was electrified with a 500 watt electric lamp.During World War II, the keepers’ families left the Light Station, and the buildings were turned into barracks against enemy submarines.After the war, families moved back, but in late 1953, the lighthouse was completely automated, and the keepers and their families left for the last time.1982, a new tower balcony replaced the crumbling one, and the light in the lantern was restored to active service.1998 the Light Station was designated a National Historic Landmark.2003 The original first order lens from the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse was restored and put on display.Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is now listed as a operational private aid to navigation. This family-friendly attraction is affordable ( Seniors – We did a lot of eating and drinking during our trip and I have to say Ponce Inlet has great places to eat nearby! The park also features two nature themed playgrounds, a few canoe launches, plenty of trails and is an excellent place for bird watching. We had a great stay and it was perfect for the whole family including my mom’s fur baby. There is a year-round If fishing is your thing this is a great place to come catch fish. Just south of Daytona Beach, Ponce Preserve Municipal Park stretches from the banks of the Halifax River to the Atlantic Ocean. More on dog-friendly places later.
During our trip we were able to visit lots of the local restaurants, beaches, Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse, Marine Science Center and some of the local state parks.
This makes the 3rd time we’ve done this. The jetty is located in Lighthouse Point Park. Ponce Inlet has a typical beach vibe for fun in the sun and its one of the cleanest beaches! You don’t actually get to be on the ocean side. Although, this is by far the most fun.There are 203 steps to climb. There is a daily or annual admission cost to the park. But don’t worry, it is super safe on top and the wind makes it a better experience.Visit the village that once prospered when the lighthouse was working. The neighborhood runs along the beach and has a very relaxed, suburban feel with gorgeous houses and perfectly manicured.The lighthouse is actually a lot more than just climbing to the top to get the views.
