Halfway down there is Mammoth gulch on the left with a decent network of camping, and at the end before the tunnel on the right is Rollins pass with tons of camping a couple miles up.Looks like there's a ton of options in Mammoth Gulch area. Basically drive through the main road in Gold Hill until you get a little bit past the town and look for an ashram on your right...the camp site is off a road pretty much across from the ashram.
